Introduction
Coflexlite is a revolutionary pipeline technology designed and specified to provide cost effective, maintenance and trouble free operation for a variety of onshore pipeline applications. The Coflexlite range of products is especially intended for those end users conscious of reducing pipeline life-cycle costs and concerned about safe environmentally sound operation.
Coflexlite is manufactured under license from Technip at dedicated facilities in Abu Dhabi , UAE. Technip is a global leader in Engineering, Technologies and construction services for oil and gas. The location of the facilities was selected in close proximity to several end users and with a partner (Cosmoplast) capable of producing the highest quality pipeline products in the region. All products are manufactured to stock meaning that, combined with the plant location, pipes can be delivered with extremely short delivery times.
QA/QC
All manufacturing and quality systems comply with ISO 9001 and product designs are qualified in accordance with ASTM D2992. In addition all Coflexlite pipe coils are hydro-tested to 1.5 times operating pressure prior to delivery. This provides the end user with 100% certainty that the product is fit for purpose when it arrives on site. Moreover, Coflexlite is then re-hydrotested to 1.25 times the operating pressure once installed to check the pipeline system integrity.
END FITTINGS
The standard end fittings used to terminate Coflexlite are produced in high grade stainless steel (316L0 and utilize either ANSI or RTJ class 300, 600, 900 or 1500 raised face flanges depending upon the operational pressure of the pipeline system. Other material grades or terminations are possible and may be specified. All end fitting designs have been qualified and pressure tested at 85 0C to ensure their absolute integrity in extreme conditions. The end fittings are extremely simple to apply. Compact, uncomplicated and light-weight equipment is used to install the fittings in the field at a rate of less than 30 minutes per fitting.
CORROSION & EROSION RESISTANCE
Coflexlite utilizes a wholly non-metallic, construction making it entirely resistant to virtually all corrosive agents typically found in an oil or gas production environment. Specifically these include water, H 2S, CO 2, aromatics, acids and bases and will not in any way affect the mechanical integrity of the product over its design life. In addition, the products polymeric construction lends itself to provide the additional benefit of resistance to erosion. The damage tolerance of the liner material means that particulate and multiphase flow will not compromise the structure in any way. These properties serve the end user to dramatically reduce operational expenditure and costs associated with pipeline inspection and maintenance and therefore provide huge cost saving benefits over the design life of the pipeline.
FLEXIBILITY
The product is light-weight and flexible, and is supplied on road transportable coils in lengths of up to 600m. This inherent property means that all logistics associated with installation are greatly simplified and as result, pipes can be rapidly installed with minimum expense. Potentially, this can provide massive capital expenditure cost savings for users of the product. In additions it is even possible to lay Coflexlite directly onto the ground without the need for supports, expansion loops, 45 0 or 90 0 bends or burial.
